1-1. go through : ~을 겪다
--to experience something difficult or unpleasant.
She’s going through a lot right now.
그녀는 지금 정말 많은 일들을 겪고 있어.
Let’s cut her some slack. She’s going through a lot right now.
조금 봐주자. 그녀는 지금 정말 많은 일들을 겪고 있어.
Cut me a little slack here.
나 좀 봐줘
I have zero tolerance for slacker.
게으름뱅이는 용납 못해.
I know that you’re going through a lot right now.
너 지금 많이 힘든거 알고 있어.
I going through a lot right now.
나 지금 많이 힘들어.
Well, I’m going through a little bit of a rough patch.
진짜 힘든 시기를 겪고 있어.
You didn’t have to go through all this trouble.
번거롭게 이러지 않으셔도 됐는데 ( 뭐이런걸다 = You shouldn't have.)
We’re gonna toss the whole thing and start from scratch.
다 없던걸로 하고 처음부터 다시 시작할거야

 

 

1-2. Go through : (강조) 거듭 살펴보다, 검토하다
--to examine or search something very carefully
There’s a lot to go over, but I’ll explain everything as we go through.
검토해야할 것이 정말 많아요. 항목들을 하나하나 꼼꼼히 살펴보며 설명드릴게요.
I will explain that as we go through the presentation.
presentation 을 보면서 하나하나 꼼꼼히 설명 드릴게요.

 

 

1-3. Go through : 특별히 뭔가를 찾기 위해 샅샅이 살펴보고 뒤져볼 때도
--to examine a collection of things carefully in order to organize them or find something.
Stop going through my stuff!
내 물건 그만 뒤져!
Don't go through my stuff.
내 물건 뒤지지마.
I went through all the files.
파일을 하나하나 다 살펴봤어.
I went through all of her files.
그녀의 파일을 하나하나 다 살펴 봤어.

 

 

1-4. Go through : 승인/통과/성사되다
--If a law, plan, or deal goes through, it is officially accepted or approved
What if the deal doesn’t go through?
거래가 성사되지 않으면 어떡해 (미리걱정)
The payment didn’t go through.
결제가 되지않았습니다.
The adoption papers went through!
입양 서류가 통과 됐어!

 

 

2. Go around : 돌아다니다, (소문이나 병 등이) 퍼지다
if something such as an illness or a piece of news is going around people are giving or telling it to each other
Coffee order is going around. On me.
커피 주문종이가 돌아다니고 있어요. 제가 쏘는 거예요.
There’s a rumor going around that he’s sick.
그가 아프다는 소문이 돌아다니고 있어.
There’s a flu going around the hospital.
병원에 독감이 유행이에요.
There’s a lot of anxiety going around.
많은 사람들이 걱정하고 있어요.

 

 

3-1. go out : 외출하다/나가다
to leave your house and go somewhere, especially to do something enjoyable.
Let’s go out for a drink.
나가서 술이나 한잔 하자.

 

 

3-2. go out : 누군가를 위로할 때
feel sorrow or sympathy for
My heart goes out to him.
(위로/동정할 때) 그가 정말 안됐네요.
My heart goes out to you and your family.
(위로의 표현)당신과 가족에게 심심한 위로의 말씀을 전합니다.

 

 

4-1. go over one’s head
(상대를 건너뛰고) ~보다 더 높은 사람에게 말하다
to go to a more important or powerful person in order to get what you want
You went over my head to Wallace.
너 날 건너뛰고 Wallace 에게 바로 말했어.

 

 

4-2. go over one’s head
(복잡하거나 어려워) 이해하지 못하다
--to be too difficult for someone to understand
What he said in the meeting went over my head.
그거 회의중에 한 말 무슨말인지 잘 이해가 안됐어.
Your joke went over my head.
네가 한 농담 무슨말인지 잘 이해가 안돼.
A : Are we on the same page? 우리 같은 생각인거 맞지?
B : Sorry, it’s a new concept, and it went over my head. 죄송해요 새로운 컨셉이라 이해가 잘 안되요.
It just went over my head because I couldn’t see it.
볼수 없어서 이해가 안됐어.
