1. promise (성공할) 가능성, 장래성, (특히 좋은 일이 있을) 징조
-- an indication of future success or improvement

 

show promise : 장래성을 보이다. 가능성을 보이다. 유망하다.

 

He shows promise as a great director.
그는 훌륭한 감독의 가능성을 보이고 있습니다.

Mark is a great employee. He shows promise.

2. 부사 way (강조) 훨씬, 아주 큰 차이로
