기본동사 Put 파헤치기 (Feat. 쌜리쌤)

무언가를 옮겨 놓는 그림. 
물건 뿐만 아니라 신체일부, 추상적 개념, 사람 등도 옮겨 놓을 수가 있습니다. 

 

1.  무언가를 옯겨 놓는 그림. 

휴지 좀 화장실에 갖다 놔라. 
Put (some) toilet paper in the restroom/bathroom.

집이 엉망이야! 다 치워!
The house is messy. Put things away. 

책상 위에 발 올려 놓지마. 
Don't put your feet on the desk. 
주머니에 손 넣지 마라. 
Don't put your hand(s) in the pocket(s).

쓰레기 버리러 가야해. 
I have to throw/put out the garbage.
I have to put the garbage out.  ( garbage 에 붙어있기만 하면 된다. )

그는 차를 차고에 넣어 놨다
He put/parked his car in the garage. 

 

 

2. 만질 수 없는 것도 옮겨 놓을 수 있어요. 

내가 핸드폰 진동으로 해 놓아서 네가 전화 한 줄 몰랐어. 
I put my phone on the vibrate so I didn't know(that) you called me. 

신용카드 뒤에 사인하세요.   (Autograph 는 유명인의 사인)
Put your signature on the back of your creditcard.
Sign the back of your creditcard.

빈칸에 당신 이름이랑 전화번호 쓰세요. 
Write your name and phone number in the blanks.
Put your name and phone number in the blanks.

그는 많은 돈을 그 집에 쏟아 부었다. 
He put a lot of money into the house. 

저는 제 모든 에너지를 아이한테 쏟고 있습니다. 
I put all of my energy into my kid.

 

 

3. 말을 놓는 그림.

듣기 좋은 말로 말하면, 그는 진취적이야.(공격적인게 아니라)
To put it mildly, he is progressive(, not agressive).

단도직입적으로 말해서, 그녀는 잘릴거야
To put it bluntly, she will be fired. (확신을 조금 낮추면 she would be fired)

간단히 말해서, 그 프로젝트는 불가능해요. 
Simply put, the project is impossible.

그럼 이렇게 얘기 해 보자. 
Let me put it this way. 
Let's put it this way. 

음... 뭐라고 해야 하나?( 어떻게 얘기 해야 하나?)

4.  사람을 옮겨 놓는 그림. 

방금 아이 재웠어. 
I put my kid to sleep. 

나 그 책 보다가 잠들었어. 
The book put me to sleep.
The movie put me to sleep. 

그 일이 당신을 위험에 빠뜨릴 수 있어요. 
That could put you in danger.

나 기분 나쁘게 하지 마라.
Don't put me in a bad mood.

나를 그런 상황에 처하게 하지 마라. 
Don't put me in a  situation like that.

셀리 좀 바꿔주세요.
Please put Selley on the phone. 

그는 저를 매니저직에 넣어 줬어요. 
He put me in a managerial position. 

Jack wanted to be a singer, but his father put his foot down. 
잭은 가수가 되고 싶었지만, 아버지는 완강하셨다. 

I'm putting my foot down.
난 절대 의견을 굽히지 않을거야.
