1. get another set/pair of eyes: 확인차 ~을 보여주다, ~에 대한 또 다른 견해를 묻다

(정도를) 한 단계 낮추다, 진정하다

(특히 상대가 좀 흥분했을 때) 좀 진정하자.

우리 좀 진정하는게 어때요?

 

- Let's win. Win, win, win! Let's go.
- Please. Take it down a notch, okay?  (calm down과 비슷)
좋아서 흥분하는 상황에서도 쓸 수 있다. 

 

You might wanna take it down a notch.
좀 진정하는게 어떨까해
*You might want to ~:(어쩌면 상대가 하고 싶어할지도 모르는 행동이니 한번 고려해보라며 간접적으로 제안/권요) ~하는게 좋을 듯 해/~하는게 어떨까 해

얘들아 좀 진정하자, 그리고 교양있게 행동하자. 

 

3-2 take it up a notch 
정도/수준을 한 단계 더 끌어 올리다.
